Bruselas propone pagar la deuda griega al FMI

HANDLESBLATT.- A number of European Union officials are prepared to accept a reduced role for the International Monetary Fund in Greece’s bailout program rather than make further concessions to secure its full participation.

Klaus Regling, the head of the bloc’s permanent bailout fund, the European Stability Mechanism, has floated a proposal whereby the European Union would essentially buy the IMF out of Greece’s bailout program.

The ESM would apply the funds it has left over from rescuing Greece’s banking system, which was €20 billion cheaper than expected, toward repaying the IMF loans.
